Stakeholders rely on your reports for a super clear picture of how teaching time and space are being used. They help you make good decisions as you prepare new cycles, too.
So you want to make sure they’re tip-top!
Some of your fellow timetablers shared their thoughts on creating great reports in a recent Timetabling Basecamp workshop.
We’ve summarised them into a handy checklist to help you pull together your next one 👇.

Your handy timetabling reporting checklist
Before you start your next timetabling report, consider the following:
✔️Work out how much detail your stakeholders need. If you know they’ll be short on time, omit (or footnote) the finer ones.
✔️Use a summary document or infographic to bring your spreadsheets to life.
✔️Think about how you can manipulate your data to make it easy to understand. A data file with some classifications can be useful.
✔️Remember to explain any items that are clear to you as a timetabler, but might not be obvious to others!
✔️If you’re often asked for the same information for different reports, think about how you can standardise your data. This way, you can simply drop it into multiple reports and save yourself time later on.
Did you find this list useful? What else would you add? Share your ideas with your community of timetablers on LinkedIn.
