How to Spot (and Solve!) Red Flags When it Comes to Teaching Space Demand and Supply

Space managers, how many times have you found yourself in the following situation?

Empty space, drag to resize
A new term is on the horizon. You start matching classes to the space you have available.

But you’re looking at the timetable data and… uh oh… you spot some red flags.

There aren’t enough IT rooms or lecture halls available at any one time to accommodate need.

Sound familiar? You’re not alone. We talk to space managers all around the UK who tell us matching space demand to supply can be a complex job.

But, there is a way to make it easier! By carrying out a space assessment before you or your timetabling team begin scheduling, you can see in advance:

✔️Where there is risk of insufficient space

✔️Where you can make better use of existing space to solve shortages elsewhere.

Our Calculating Space Demand course shows you how to carry out your own effective space assessment and fix those red flags before your scheduling begins. It’s a step that’s worth taking and will definitely save you time (and potential headaches!) later on.

Run by our space management guru Terry Roche, who’s helped universities all around the UK solve their space management issues, the course will also give you some great tips on how to:

✔️ Calculate space type demand from your timetable dataset

✔️ Analyse and clean your timetable data

✔️Display space demand reports in the most effective way.
