What is it all about?

community for higher education timetabling professionals. More than a message
board, our Academy is bringing professionals together.

It’s designed to empower, uplift and accredit our profession. With a calendar of
events, live workshops, networking and resources, it's an inclusive club created
by experienced higher education timetabling professionals for the timetabling
community.

The Timetabling Academy
The Academy is set to appeal to all professionals within the timetabling field, from those starting out on their careers to those who have many years of experience under their belt.

Essentially, it is a membership community that aims to foster collaboration as well as information sharing and resource building. And it goes without saying, that with our established reputation for providing high-quality and accessible training around timetabling and space management, a large part of the community will focus on professional development.

But it’s so much more than just another community. The Timetabling Academy includes monthly live workshops, mastermind sessions, bite-sized webinars, live problem solving streams, discussion boards, an every growing resource library and much more.

The Summer of Free Events - Taster Sessions

There are a series of free events throughout July and August that anyone can join. Ben Moreland, Director of Escentral, is clear that these free sessions will be beneficial for timetabling professionals.

“The aim of the Timetabling Academy is to bring people together but we are keen to give people a taste of what it is all about before they join.” With enrolment slated to start on August 1st, Ben is clear about the value that membership of The Timetabling Academy will bring to high education institutions not just in the UK, but across the globe. “We can learn so much from each other that it just made sense to create the Academy.”

Wilna Joubert, The Timetabling Academy director, agrees. With many years of experience working in timetabling at educational institutions across Australia and Asia, connecting the timetabling dots across the globe will be the spark for new and creative ideas. “The Academy is more than just a ‘talking shop’,” Wilna comments “but a real opportunity to make the most of collaborating and learning. And have fun along the way!”.

Workshops
There will be two free workshops leading up when the community will go live on September 1st. On Thursday 14th July, there will be a workshop focusing on ‘Managing & Reducing Timetabling Changes’ and ‘Developing an effective student allocation process’ will be the subject of the second workshop on Thursday 18th August.

Mastermind sessions
Following this on Wednesday 20th July, Wilna will introduce the first of the Mastermind sessions. These are expert-led sessions that bring to the table thorny timetabling issues, as well as potential solutions. There will be a further Mastermind session on Wednesday 17th August.

Lunch & Learn
The Lunch & Learn sessions are the perfect, three-quarters of an hour bite-sized session that allows busy professionals the opportunity to be part of topical discussions. The first live webinar was back in June, but there are plans to repeat these on a monthly basis. The next Lunch & Learn sessions are Thursday 7th July and Thursday 11th August.
