Recently we’ve been over at Manchester’s Trafford College Group, helping the team find ways to improve use of its campus space.
The college wanted to delve into how well it was using its current teaching rooms, and work out whether timetabling requests from academics represented a true reflection of what was needed.
We headed in with our consultancy hats on, to get them the answers they needed!
We co-ordinated and managed a full space utilisation survey, collecting all the data needed to report on frequency, occupancy and utilisation (including hours booked and not used split by department, space type and more), and were able to recommend how the college could address any inefficiencies.
Now, Trafford College is able to create more efficient timetables, make best use of the space it has available, and make some great long-term savings on energy-costs, too.
