You’ll analyse your existing strategy and policy and identify ways you can improve it.
Then learn how to make sure people stick to it!

Get your academics on your side

Discover frameworks for working collaboratively, managing expectations and multiple requests, so that colleagues understand and support what you do.

See how others manage their space

Explore the challenges other universities face when it comes to strategy, policy and stakeholder relationships – so you can borrow ideas and see where you’re already ahead of the curve.

Leave with a plan

Finish the course with a solid plan to develop and roll out a space strategy and policy that aligns with your university’s wider goals

Is this course for me?

If you’re a space manager with some experience who wants to get to grips with some of the ‘bigger picture’ stuff around strategy and policy, then yes! That includes things like being able to influence both space strategy and policy, how to manage expectations and negotiate with academics, heads of schools and other stakeholders, and how you can use space planning to help achieve your university’s wider goals.
"I could see the progression of course content between the two space management courses; level 2 was more about strategy and policy at a higher level, while level 1 was more operational...I would definitely recommend this course to someone at my level of experience – it's very useful when moving into a manager position."
Fritha Voaden, Senior Space Planner, University of the West of England
"Dave Beavis is an excellent facilitator. He’s a great listener, his response is always based on what you say, he's really engaged and is obviously very knowledgeable. We were getting real value for money from him."
Jamie Gibson, Interim Space Manager, Durham University
